COINDU | Sustainability Report - 2024

SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2024 recorded in 2021 (27 478,9 GJ), which has been established as the base year for comparison. The year 2021 was selected as the base as it represents the first post- COVID year in which production stabilized and returned to normal levels, providing a more accurate reference point for evaluating the company’s current energy performance. It is important to highlight that the data presented refers to absolute energy consumption, which is typically influenced by production volume, following a directly proportional relationship. However, despite a higher number of car sets produced in 2024 (1 005 612 car sets) compared to 2023 (978 169 car sets), a reduction in total energy consumption was still achieved. CAR SETS PRODUCED - GLOBAL 2022 kWh/car set 614 846 2023 978 169 2024 1 005 612 This outcome reflects significant improvements in energy efficiency throughout operations. Monitoring the relative energy consumption indicator (kWh per car set) reveals a reduction of approximately 50% since 2022, underscoring COINDU’s ongoing commitment to optimiz- ing resource use. At the Joane plant, however, the energy efficiency indicator under- performed between 2023 and 2024. Despite this being the only plant that experienced a decrease in the number of car sets produced, all 89
