SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2024 A detailed risk assessment to specific COINDU business was carried out. Areas such as resource scarcity, environmental and climate regula- tions and extreme weather events that may affect our production and value chain were identified. COINDU is taking action to mitigate and/or eliminate its environmental and climate risks through: • Sustainable management of natural resources (raw materials, energy, water, etc.), promoting strategies and policies for sus- tainable purchasing of materials, goals to minimize energy con- sumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce, and promote circular economy in waste generated and reduce water consumption; • Usage of Best Available Technologies to improve production ef- ficiency and to prevent and reduce pollution and waste; • Management of generated waste respecting the correct manage- ment hierarchy (reduction, reuse, recycling and, as last resort, correct disposal); • Responsible chemical management; • Compliance with legal and other stakeholders requirements; • Continuous improvement at the operational control measures to ensure an effective monitoring of the environmental aspects and respective impacts; • Promote the continuous training of our employees on environ- mental and climate issues; • Promote a culture of environmental and climate awareness throughout the company. 77
