Please be informed that all smelters based in Russia are subject to international sectorial sanctions applicable to the Russian mining and metal sector, therefore you and /or your suppliers must be prepared that any smelter based in Russia may become individually sanctioned with very notice at any time. Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to discontinue any sourcing from smelters in Russia and you shall begin sourcing from alternate smelters.
If you find any of those smelters on your supply chain, we request the following action:
-
- Identify if those suppliers who have listed these smelters contribute to the products, parts, or materials sold to COINDU. If the suppliers listing these smelters do not contribute to the items sold to us please provide an updated User Defined CMRT containing only the supplier’s smelters that are relevant to items sold to COINDU within the calendar year 2024.
- If any of the suppliers claiming these smelters do contribute to the products, parts or materials sold to COINDU please go back and ask those suppliers to conduct the same process listed in Step 1 for what they sell to your organization.
This is an attempt to determine smelters that are in scope for the relevant supply chain.
- After conducting your due diligence, if any of the smelters listed remain in the supply chain of products, parts, or materials sold to COINDU, please provide us a brief explanation of how you intend to address this situation with your supply chain to ensure these sources/entities are no longer providing materials to your products, parts or materials in future reporting years. This will support COINDU efforts to address responsible sourcing.
To the extent that a supplier refuses to cooperate with our compliance efforts or does not conduct conflict-free sourcing, we may reconsider our supply arrangement and implement remedies available to us.
Updates can be sent throughout the year, but latest on December 31st.
